Just thought I'd point out that you can now comment on any updates that I put on the homepage. Thankfully, Sandra figured out why it wasn't working before.

Also, if you've e-mailed or left me messages the past two days, I will be getting to those today. I've not been feeling good again (thanks to my oldest son who brings the germs home from school) so I've been a bit 'out of the game' for the past two days. I'm feeling a little better today, and being that I have an interview to do tonight, I have to get my rear in gear and get some work done so that the Anniversary podcast can come out on time.

Surprise! The wonderfully talented Sandra, who designed the first website layout for the harmony podcast website when it opened, has created a brand new layout. In this layout, you can choose what color you want it to be: pink, green, or blue. The color choices are on the left hand side of the page. The mini podcast player on the top of the page will play only the most recent podcast, while the podcast player on the right hand side of the homepage will play whichever episode you select.

One other big change you may notice...the cbox is gone. Since we have the chat room now (which hasn't been getting used much) you can chat in there with your friends. I hope you enjoy the new look, I know I love it, and give a big pat on the back to Sandra who worked hard on it.

Oh, and since the cbox is gone and I haven't been able to get into the chat room much myself, I will be adding a thread in the forum where you can leave comments for me or ask me any questions you may need to ask. If you don't want to post them there, feel free to PM me in the forums and I will get back to you as soon as I can. There will also be a place to report any problems or broken links you may find with the layout.

In April, I spoke about something that has affected me personally...child abuse. The month of October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and it is something that has affected me as well. I lost my paternal grandmother to it, a wonderful woman who used to dress up as a clown and visit sick children in hospitals all over New York. Ten years ago, I spoke to her on the phone an hour before she died, and it's something I will never, ever forget. Some of her last words to me were, "don't let this kill you, too." I get checked every year, and I believe that no matter what your age or gender (males develop breast cancer also) you should get checked every year as well, especially if it runs in your family. I will be talking about breast cancer on the Anniversary Podcast, and if you wish to share any of your own personal experiences, I will gladly be here to listen. Sharing your story may help to save someone else.

A new picture of Harry was released today and surfaced over at Yahoo! movies. He is in his school uniform, and looking very much the moody!Harry we know and love from Order of the Phoenix.

And, if you read the cbox regularly, you'll see that my youngest son is sick tonight. I'm going to try to get onto Skype, but if I can't, I have Skype voicemail now and you can leave a message for me if you'd like...Skype username is harmonycast.

I will be on Skype tonight (Skype username is harmonycast) from 8:30 pm until 10:00 pm Pacific time...that's two hours and forty-five minutes from the time I'm posting this. I will be on Skype and the Harmony chat room at the same time, so that if more than 5 people call me on Skype, I can organize things a bit. I hope to talk to you all soon!

Just a reminder...the deadline for submissions for the H/Hr Halloween fanfic contest is fast approaching. The theme will be Halloween, and I'll leave the storyline up to the writers. It should be under 2500 words long, rated no higher than PG-13, and be turned in by October 6th. Lisa and I will be the judges, and I will read the winning fic on the podcast. The winner will get one year of extra icons on live journal, or if the winner doesn't have an LJ there'll be some other prize, as yet undecided.

The logo contest deadline is November 1st, and we have some great submissions already in the forum logo contest thread under the podcast forum. That's it for now, I hope to read some fanfic contest entries soon, and I hope you're all enjoying the new chat room. It was great talking to some of you yesterday!

Just an update on the podcast standings...on Podcast Alley right now, Harmony Podcast is ranked #70 out of the 24,765 podcasts on the website. Stats from my Libsyn host site:

Harmony Podcast #14-Part 1= 760 downloads (due to length, I'm sure)
Harmony Podcast #14-Part 2= 1,391 downloads

To date, all of the podcasts combined have been downloaded 32,687 times. Not bad for a single-fandom based podcast!
